I’m Beth

Hi! I'm Bethany and I've been designing digital experiences for over 8 years. I'm currently Senior Product Designer at LloydsDirect. Previously, Principal designer at Curio. In my free time, I’m a freelance illustrator of comics.

Curio

I joined Curio as the only Product Designer, and oversaw a complete rebrand and redesign of the app. Eventually, I headed up design in the Engagement Squad. We worked on some amazing projects such as redesigning the entire homepage and component library. I also worked on some amazing projects launching and establishing Curio Shows. I branded the Gillian Anderson show 'What Do I Know?!'.

Depop

At Depop, my focus was always on the buyer experience. In my two and a half years in the team, we released some really successful features that improved the buyer experience and helped users more easily find items they love.

My role consisted of everything from researching, wireframing, user testing and prototyping to the final details of a finished feature. I also worked with the PM to input into the roadmap, implementing accessible design practices and facilitating workshops with my team and other business areas. The team was very target driven and I'm proud to have been part of some amazing projects.

In 2016, my student project 'Moloko', a kefir making kit, was featured in this book about Green Packaging Solutions

In the summer of 2020, Guerilla Girls shared my comic about Tate redundancies on their Instagram story. I'm currently working with Mia Ryder, a writer and poet, on our latest comic Brat Soup #2.
